태아 제대 매듭(탯줄이 꼬일 때), Umbilical-cord knot of fetus

출생 전 자궁 내 태아의 탯줄이 한번 또는 여러 번 완전히, 또는 불안전하게 꼬일 때가 있다.
탯줄이 진짜로 꼬이는 현상은 약 100명의 태아들 중 1명 정도에게 생길 수 있다.
한 번 불안전하게 꼬였을 경우, 꼬인 탯줄이 자연적으로 풀리기 때문에 대부분의 경우 큰 문제가 생기지 않는다.
때로는 한번이라도 완전히 꼬여 탯줄에 매듭이 생기면 자궁 내 태아가 질식될 수 있다.
출생하기 전 자궁 내 태아의 탯줄(제대)이 꼬이기는 했지만 아주 완전히 꼬이지 않았을 때는 모체로부터 태아에게 산소 공급이 일부 중단될 수 있고 태아의 심박동이 느리고 약해질 수 있다. 탯줄이 완전히 꼬일 때는 태아가 완전히 질식되고 자궁 내 태아가 사망할 수 있다.
출생 전 탯줄이 한번 또는 여러 번 완전히, 또는 불안전하게 꼬일 때는 응급 제왕 절개수술 분만을 할 때도 있다.

Before birth, the umbilical cord of the fetus in the womb is sometimes completely or unsafely twisted once or several times.

A real umbilical cord twist can occur in about 1 in 100 fetuses.

Once insecurely twisted, the twisted umbilical cord will loosen naturally, so in most cases, it’s not a big problem.

Sometimes, even once completely twisted and knotted in the umbilical cord, it can suffocate the fetus in the womb.

The umbilical cord of the fetus in the womb before birth is twisted, but if it is not completely twisted, oxygen supply from the mother to the fetus may be partially interrupted, and the fetus’s heartbeat may be slow and weak.

When the umbilical cord is completely twisted, the fetus is completely suffocated and the fetus in the womb can die.

Emergency cesarean section delivery is sometimes performed when the umbilical cord is completely or unsafely twisted once or several times before birth.
